Mr. Grosskopf assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer of Sprott in September 2010. Mr. Grosskopf has over 24 years of experience in the financial services industry and an extensive background as an advisor and underwriter to companies in a wide variety of sectors. In addition to his role at Sprott, he also serves as Chief Executive Officer of Sprott Resource Lending Corp. and President of Sprott Consulting. Prior to joining Sprott, he was President of Cormark Securities Inc. Over the course of his career, Mr. Grosskopf has established a track record of successfully building and growing businesses. Prior to joining Cormark, Mr. Grosskopf was one of the co-founders of Newcrest Capital Inc., which was acquired by the TD Bank Financial Group in 2000. Mr. Grosskopf is a CFA charterholder and earned an Honours Degree in Business Administration and a Masters of Business Administration, both from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.
Mr. Hibbert joined the Company in 2014 as Vice President, Finance. Previously, he was employed at a major Canadian financial institution, serving as Controller and Chief Financial Officer for its Canadian investment banking, wealth management and real estate finance subsidiaries in Canada. These companies had over $250 billion of combined assets under administration. In addition, he has held several other roles in the Canadian financial services and asset management industries including at a global audit firm where his audit clients included some of that firm’s largest asset management, hedge fund and investment banking clients. Mr. Hibbert holds a B.A. Hons degree in Management (High Distinction) from the University of Toronto and is a CPA, CA (Ontario).
Mr. Rule began his career in the securities business in 1974, and has been principally involved in natural resource security investments ever since. He is a leading resource investor specializing in mining, energy, water utilities, forest products and agriculture. Mr. Rule is the Founder of Global Resource Investments, President and CEO of Sprott US holdings and a member of the Sprott Inc. Board of Directors.
Mr. George joined Sprott in 2015 and previously spent 23 years in senior roles at Royce & Associates LLC (“Royce”) in New York. Mr. George was co-Chief Investment officer of Royce from 2009 to 2013 and played a key role in the firm’s growth and evolution into a leading U.S. small-cap manager with peak assets of more than US$40 billion. Prior to joining Royce, he held positions with Dominick & Dominick, Inc., WR Lazard & Laidlaw, Inc., Laidlaw, Adams & Peck, and Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. Mr. George holds a bachelor's degree from Trinity College.
Mr. Wilson joined Sprott Asset Management LP in January 2012 with over 25 years of investment and business experience. Previously, he was Chief Investment Officer at Cumberland Private Wealth Management. Prior to that, John founded DDX Capital Partners, an alternative investment management firm; was Managing Director at RBC Capital Markets; and previously, a Director at UBS Canada.John earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Queen’s University, and is an MBA graduate of The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
James Fox was appointed President of Sprott Asset Management in 2009. Mr. Fox is a Director of Sprott Asset Management and an active member of Sprott Inc.’s Steering Committee. Mr. Fox began his career at Sprott Securities Inc in 1999 and was one of Sprott Asset Management’s founding executives when the Firm spun out of Sprott Securities Inc in 2001. He has been a key contributor to the growth of Sprott. Domestically, Mr. Fox has led the development and management of the Wholesale and Institutional sales teams and is actively involved in product development, product launches and overall management decisions. In recent years, Mr. Fox helped lead the launch of three Bullion Trust investment vehicles that are dually listed on NYSE Arca and TSX exchanges, raising approximately $4B in assets. Internationally, James has represented Sprott as a panel speaker at Institutional conferences in London, Geneva, New York, Tokyo, and, has been a key contributor to the firm’s Institutional accounts and client relationships.
Mr. Fox is an MBA graduate from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto (1999) and BA in Finance and Economics at the University of Western Ontario (1996).
Mr. Ciampaglia is the Executive Vice President of Corporate Development at Sprott Inc. Mr. Ciampaglia has 20 years of experience in the investment industry. Prior to this role, Mr. Ciampaglia was the Chief Operating Officer of Sprott Asset Management and before joining Sprott, he was a Senior Executive at Invesco Trimark; Mr. Ciampaglia was an active member of the firm’s Executive Committee and held the position of Senior Vice President, Product Development. Mr. Ciampaglia was responsible for overseeing the product development function across multiple product lines and distribution channels. He also played a key role in initiating and leading the implementation of various strategic initiatives for the firm. Prior to joining Invesco Trimark, Mr. Ciampaglia spent more than four years at TD Asset Management, where he held progressively senior product management and research roles. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from York University, is a CFA charterholder and a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute.
Ms. McTaggart joined Sprott (and its predecessor Sprott Asset Management Inc.) in April 2003 as a compliance officer and subsequently became the Chief Compliance Officer in April 2007. Ms. McTaggart currently also serves as the Corporate Secretary of the general partner of Sprott Asset Management LP, Sprott Private Wealth LP and Sprott Private Wealth GP Inc. Ms. McTaggart has accumulated over 22 years of experience in the financial and investment industry. Prior to April 2003, Ms. McTaggart spent five years as a Senior Manager at Trimark Investment Management Inc., where her focus was the development of formal compliance and internal control policies and procedures.
